Welcome Missies

Welcome to the land of Missies..

All the information you will need to take this one day journey from Hong Kong is right here at HongKong Missy Missy.  Read about Part 1 -What to take Part 2 - Getting to Lo WuPart 3 - Immigration and VisasPart 4 - Recommended shops and prices and Part 5 - Eating there and Part 6 - Personal Shoppers in this 5 Part series.

"where Missy is your new name,
same same but different
and AAA quality are your catch phrases of the day!"

Or this catch phrase??

Lo Wu....Luohu Commercial City

...is a large shopping mall located right outside the entrance/exit to Luohu Immigration Control Point and the last stop on the MTR line from Hong Kong.

So why the two names you ask?

Lo Wu is the Hong Kong name for LuohuLuohu is Mainland Chinese name for the same place.  I will use both spelling throughout this 5 part series.

Lo Wu consists of 5 shopping floors with 1500 tiny shops crammed around a number of escalators.  Enjoy the hustle and bustle in the safety of this huge shopping mall.  The complex is relatively clean with squat toilets and a number of restaurants.

With over 1500 tiny shops to choose from, this is certainly the ultimate in fast fashion. Each shop is identified by a number and are grouped together in a chaotic format.  Shops can be located on the floors by the first digit of the number.  So shop 5089 will be on the 5th floor.  But finding that shop once you are there is a bit of luck and lack of logic.  Even the shop owners don't understand the layout!

Most shops don't open until around 10:30-11:00 with the warehouses opening around 11:30am.  Head off for some delicious dim sum if you are too early.  However it is a very time consuming process getting to Lo Wu so it is recommended to arrive at around 9:00-9:30am due to long waits at the visa office. You can wait up to 2 hours if you arrive from 10am.  Just be warned!
